Her conception took place on 29 March 1985 at Roswell in New Mexico. Her birth name was Gerina Mendoza. Gerina Stevenson is the daughter of Mexican parents Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. The mother of two is Mexican American as well as an American by nationality. Since she was a child she's always been keen on playing sports. Gerina took up golf in her first game at the age of 15. Gerina went to Goddard High School. The school won at the New Mexico State Golf Tournament in her high school years. As well as playing volleyball, she also competed at the state level. The year 2003 was the time she was enrolled in the University of Texas. In her senior year, she took home the top prize in each tournament in which she took part in. During her college career she was awarded an award called the Conference USA Player of The Year award and the UTEP Female Sports Athelete Award.
